David attended De La Salle Revesby Heights until Yr 10 then Benilde High for the HSC.
David obtained apprenticeship with City Ford Crown Street, Sydney and completed trade in 1990.
David backpacked around Europe and Scandinavia and lived and worked in London for 18 months.
David joined NSW Police in 1992. Working in General Duties at Campbelltown the Bankstown Police Stations.
David played Rugby League in the Police Competition for Bankstown Giants.
David transferred to Bankstown Detectives in 1995 competed Investigators Course, Detectives Course, Sexual Assault Initial Response Course and enrolled in the Legal Practitioners Admission Board.
David was attached to the Homicide division in 1998 for a Double Murder in Bankstown and was awarded the Commissioner’s Commendation.
David investigated Plane crashes, extradited offenders from interstate, and travelled interstate on investigations.
David transferred North Region Police Prosecutions at Gosford.
David prosecuted at Gosford, Woy Woy, Wyong, Forster, Taree, Bourke, Brewarrina, Ryde, Downing Centre and ors.
David assisted the Coroner at Gosford, prosecuted for Fisheries, Roads and Traffic Authority and RSPCA.
David was employed by Tonkin Drysdale Partners from 2005 to 2008 in Criminal and Family Law.
In 2008 David Started David Kelly Lawyers, first based at Kariong then at Woy Woy.
David subcontracted to Roads and Traffic Authority prosecuting License Appeals and Heavy Vehicle Offences.
David participated in Mock Courts for RTA training legal staff and officers at North Sydney and Glen Innes.
David appears in Local, District, Supreme Court in Murder, Kidnapping, Arson, Sexual Assault, Malicious Wounding, Large Commercial Drug Supply and Import matters and the usual Woy Woy matters.
David has been married for 28 years, 2 boys and is a proud resident of the Peninsula
